Bill Alvarez, CPA, is a Senior Operations Executive with over 25 years of global financial management and operational experience as CFO with public and pre-public (IPO) Structured Finance, Technology and Service Companies. As CFO for four companies, Bill Alvarez built and positioned each organization to execute a capital transaction, either an IPO or merger, and realized substantial incremental value for stockholders. Most recently, Bill lead the management team of Patriot Capital Funding, a public BDC (specialty finance company) through a successful IPO and three secondary offerings, building its asset base to over $400 million and ultimately merged the company where the shareholders received a 260% premium in stock price.
Bill Alvarez has a broad base of experience in financial management, strategic and operations planning, international operations, compliance, valuation, tax, treasury, human resources, facilities, information systems, risk management, investor relations and revenue management. Proven track record of building and integrating teams, systems and procedures during periods of high growth and economic recession. A leader in initiating cost reduction programs, evaluating and monitoring proposed programs and business initiatives. Developed new business programs and initiatives. Experienced at raising capital in private markets (venture and equity), public markets (IPO and secondary offerings) and debt financing.
Bill Alvarez, since 2005, has been the Chairman of the Redding Board of Finance, an elected position. The Finance Board serves the Town as the Leading Financial Oversight pertaining to all matters related to the fiscal health of the community. Under Bill's Chairmanship, the Town's fund balance grew by over 1400%, and in 2009, obtained the Town's first AAA Bond Rating.
