Richard Foggio is a proven leader delivering sustained, profitable growth and new opportunity exploration. He has successfully led finance, operations, and strategy teams at well-known consumer brand companies. Richard leverages his worldwide experience in consumer products, luxury lifestyle, and advertising to deliver meaningful improvements in management processes, financial efficiencies, and organizational effectiveness. He has expertise in designing innovative product costing and inventory valuation procedures to drive profitability, crafting benchmarks and responsibility reporting to drive significant cost savings, and designing innovative performance incentive plans, all within a global framework. In a recent client engagement at a social media digital agency (revenue ~$50m), Richard implemented actions to stabilize actual results, developed management and accounting processes and procedures, improved reporting, and established approval and escalation levels.
In 2011, Richard was recruited by Ralph Lauren to provide financial leadership to the worldwide marketing, advertising, and public relations division. In this role, he developed a strategic framework for brand resources, designed and installed performance visibility tracking, redesigned the chart of accounts, and improved 4-wall profitability reporting.
Richard served as head of finance and operations for the wholly owned Ralph Lauren Advertising Agency (billings ~$100m) overseeing all finance functions including revenue/billing, margins, product costing, ERP operating system, project management system, working capital, cost controls, and headcount/hiring approval. The Ralph Lauren Advertising Agency experienced significant client delivery productivity and cycle time improvements from Richard’s guidance.
Active in the beauty industry for over 25 years, Richard was a member of Avon Product’s senior management team during a period of unparalleled growth and profitability for the company. He developed direct to consumer and distributor strategies and implemented initiatives. As a partner to the COO, he developed operating targets, and management processes to track and monitor progress. In several corporate roles, including Worldwide Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, Richard led Avon’s accounting, business planning, SEC reporting, and capital project analysis activities. He collaborated on several acquisitions that contributed to significant market share gains for the company. He has unique insight into management actions that promote, or impede, success.
Richard has extensive international experience, and the ability to navigate often volatile economic and political environments worldwide. Under Richard’s financial leadership as CFO of Avon Latin America, sales and profits grew significantly, with Latin America becoming the most profitable region. Richard was instrumental in developing successful restructuring initiatives for Europe, including a turnaround plan for the Russia subsidiary following a currency crisis. As CFO of Avon’s Global Marketing Business Unit, Richard was instrumental in developing financial plans to expand existing brands and enter new category segments, establishing a new R&D facility in China and implementing financial tools to improve the company’s gross margins. His operations team provided governance for Avon’s worldwide product portfolio, consistently driving increased revenue from an optimized line.
Richard earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Rochester.
